There are no shortcuts to excellence
I find that people with high expectations often want to pay little or nothing. Often this doesn't work. Either somebody cannot afford to stay in business, or corners must be cut. So what seems like a lot of money for some services, actually turns out to be very little. Of course, people can actually live under the delusion that they can get by, and in the end, their delusions will overtake their expectations.
