On Wednesday I worked with Tess on a story that has been developing over awhile. Here is Kansas City at it's finest..... I worked on this story with Tess on Wednesday, though the link is to the Rob Low version which aired earlier in the day.
Here are some pix from the past days....
To get the cats ready for the move, I have to give them a flea bath. That was accomplished by using the kitchen sink in the trailer. I tried to dry them, but after the trauma of the bath, the stupid cats just wanted to hide and sulk. So I turned the heat up instead. Here is Jack looking like a drowned rat. It is really funny how cats loose half their size when you just add water. Jack just howled a little, but sat relatively still through the ordeal.
Now Dusty, the docile kitty, was supposed to be the nice one. When he hit the water, he all of a sudden discovered his strength and size. He scratched the Shiite out of me trying to claw his way out of the sink. I had to find him again and get rough with him to get him to sit still. Can you believe this evil looking drowned rat is the same huge fluffy siamese looking cat seen in previous pix?
This is Katrina, who was ironically the most calm cat. She was supposed to be the bitch.
Tess is here waiting for the ethics commision to come out and report on what they are going to do about Saundra McFadden Weaver, a Kansas City Council person who is under indictment.
I went outside of the board room to look for a water fountain and snapped this picture from the 10th floor of City Hall.
I went to YJ's before closing to have some hot chocolate. Suyen is working a late one tonight. YJ's closes at 10 on Weeknights except Thursday where they go to the 24 hour weekend schedule.
It came time to transport the cats -- Oh WHAT FUN!!!! I put all three of them in one carrier and they sang in chorus in the car ride all the way to MTN. I had to wait on Suyen to get done, so I let the cats stretch their legs in the car. That calmed them down a bit.
I had to run Suyen to work for a few minutes to take care of something from last night. Then we rushed back to greet the carpet cleaners. Before we move in furniture and our junk, the carpet needs one good cleaning. Uhg! We are now suffering from the red-eye of little sleep from last night.
Life In Prison! These two after I let them out of the carrier decided they had to wander around the whole car and get lost in stuff and howl, so I had to take away their "yard" priveledges, and they went back into the "hole." Oh well, they calmed down once I put them in there. Katrina was even purring.
Dusty, however, calmed down and took himself a nice window seat where he could lord over the MTN parking lot while we waited for Suyen.
Dogs are to cats as apples are to oranges. You can't keep a dog out of a car. Tima was calm and even sleeping throught the whole trip despite the howling of the cats and the squawking of the scanner. Poor Tima didn't have a very comfy perch however. Here she is on top of the pet carrier. Cats and dog got along quite well though, even Jack didn't mind tima.
