Getting up in the moaning.  Suyen is trying to push our departure back.  I'm trying to move it up.  We always have this argument.  I need to get us going to the car rental place or it will never happen.

Car rental -- what an adventure.  These places are never up front with you, and they wonder why there is a lot of turn over of companies in the business.  We had a range of prices from 151.00 to 750.00 on the same car.  Actually, one of the places is giving us what they claim is a full sized car.  We are very dubious about the 151.00 one.  We think it might be bait and switch.  We were glad to do some actual foot work instead of doing it online.  If you want bait and switch -- try to rent a car online.  We went up to the airport only to find that the rates are jacked up by an exhorbitant airport tax.  I think most of that goes to fund the busses to the fancy car rental mall the city built out there.  So, we reasoned, lets try the car rental places on North Oak -- same companies as the airport mall rental places.  Well, the first one we went to gave us the highest price on an economy car.  We rented from them last October -- and apart from getting a wheezer of an older compact car, we didn't have too many problems.  That is why we decided on this trip, renting was the way to go.  However, the way the companies deal with customers, and try to pull one over on people -- it makes you want to rethink.  I'm reminded of the Seinfeld sketch on the reservation...

We'll see what the hundred fifty dollar car gets us.  If not, we'll go for the people who were most up front with us at the airport.  You often can't beat people on price, but you can definitely do something about service.  Heck, you might even be able to ask a slightly higher price if you give better service.  Just ask Quiktrip about their bathrooms.

During our morning walk, we ma aged to pick up another dog.  He got loose from his yard to come out to play with Tima.  We had to finish our walk and this dog kept following us.  Fearing he would be hit by a car, we pu a leash on him and finished our walk.  We then brought him home to the owner.
