Oak Park Mall in Kansas City Missouri has been proposed to be redeveloped into "the Streets at Barrytown" a "lifestyle Center." That basically means they will be ripping the roof off and turning it into big box stores.

I went back to the station, then to KCK -- first to Argentine to check on something, then to Rosedale to babysit a homicide scene. I was relieved my Melissa, so I went homo.

Homo, Suyen fixed poke chops and soup. We then went to choich.

We went to YJ's. Then we went homo to fill our cars up with gas. I went back to YJ's to talk to the musicians and to shoot video. I then came homo and started woiking on the puters and watching the noose.

I went to woik. I'm with DDU. We went to KCK to do a folo on the double homicide yesterday. We went to Bishop Ward, where Nicolette went to high school and we talked to the principal. Then we went to a church where the priest was friends with the family. He couldn't talk. Then we went to the Argentine branch of the KCK library where she worked, but no one there would talk to us. Then we headed back. We were sent out later to go to the apartments where her ex husband may have lived, but they didn't know anything and didn't want us on their property. Then we came back. I edited in Johns edit bay. We were late with the story due to coming in late and the writing taking a long time. I cut the vo/sot and headed to do the 10 live. Then we headed back.

Dave and I headed to Turner Middle school (formerly High school) for the Kansas caucas. We shot and interviewed people coming in. The truck was brought to us by Phil at 18:00.

At Turner. My camera malfunctioned, so Fritz brought me Stony's Sony. I set up the truck by the front door. We did lives for the net. I moved the cable into the media area in the caucas room in the gym. Somebody with the school complained that I was tripping people with the cable. It was fixed by the janitorial staff who set up cones and wet floor signs. We did our lives for the web and the newscasts. It started sleeting and snowing. The caucas was a mess at first -- it took a long time to organize. There was a record amount of people who showed up. We did all our lives. The caucas we were at went for Obama over Clinton -- as did the state of Kansas. The event was done by 21:30. We stayed until 23:00. Then we headed back in the snow. We got gas at QT. I put the van up and my camera on the bench. Then headed homo at midnight.

It has been said on local blogs that the northland of Kansas City Missouri (areas north of the Missouri River that are within the city limits) are racist. However, we pay the taxes for the city because the demographics of the northland are overwhelmingly middle class. We don't see our fair share of the city services though. We are considered racist, but we have the tax base and pay the taxes, but don't see anything for it but more taxes. If we are so racist (meaning mostly white) then why is it, in my neighborhood, I have a hispanic next door neighbor, I'm italian American, my wife is filipino, my next door neighbors are white, across the street, my neighbors are hispanic, and italian, and next to them my neighbors are african american. Around the corner is another older african american couple and I beleive on the other corner is a gay couple. That, it seems is the way the whole neighborhood is -- a supposedly white racist neighborhood, according to the bloggers. We work our jobs, we pay our taxes and all the money goes elsewhere in the city. For that, we are called racists.
Watched the boob tube and did the labels for DVD 2 of the Billy Christ Benefit.
