Showered, dressed, got ready, headed out to choich.

Choich -- Suyen practiced with the chior. Father Shea presided. Sermon was about respecting the poor.

We went to Hyvee for all you can eat salad.

7:30pm - 9:00pm
We headed to Independence to meet Debbie at Santacaligon. The parking and crowds were too much to deal with. We went to big gayfart and got some photo albums and paper. We headed to YJ's.

9:00pm - 11:59pm
YJ's. I woiked on the puter organizing pictures. Suyen organized the pictures in the photo albums. Micah and Doug were presiding in the jazz jam. It was nice. The evening was gorgeous weather so we sat outside under the awning.

We hung out at YJ's. Enjoyed some jazz and we finished with our pictures. I finally got my pix organized in flickr.

We came homo. We watched the boob tube and worked on the photo's.

Woik. I had to get my shiite together. I'm missing a power cord for my wireless reciever and my new audio cable was tied up in knots. I got with Tony and got things organized. I found out Sam is taking it easy on me. I'm only editing for Nancy.

I got into the brand new Avid bay 2. It is taking me a long time to get into the groove. I added a PS graphic onto the end of a package that was edited by Phil. Then I started batching for tonights package.

6:00pm - 7:00pm
I got vittles at Wendy's -- I got salad, a small frosty and Iced tea.

7:00pm - 8:30pm
I edited Nancy's stuff

8:30pm - 9:30pm
I hung out. I then went to YJ's, but before I could order, Sam called, I headed KCK to check on a couple of shootings. I found nothing at first, but found a shooting at a car wash.

9:30pm - 11:00pm
I shot the shooting.

11:00pm - 11:59pm
I headed homo. I watched the boob tube. Suyen fixed vittles

I went to the bunk to deposit my paycheck from two weeks ago. Then I headed to woik.

2:30pm - 3:30pm
I had enough time after getting my shiite together to go the the PO in Union Station to mail the bill's Ma's birthday card. I also got stamps.

3:30pm - 4:30pm
I'm with Dave Dunn -- a new part-time reporter. We went to KCMO PD HQ to talk to Capt. Lockhardt about a rash of muggings in the Plah-zuh

4:30pm - 6:30pm
I dropped Dave off at the station so he could log and work on some leads. I went to the Plah-zuh to get some vid of the locations where the muggings occurred from the police report. I got an interview with a woman who was walking her dog who lived in the area.

6:30pm - 7:00pm
Back at the station. I gave Dave the second tape and started batching the first tape.

7:00pm - 7:30pm
I got the second tape and started batching it in Avid 2. I went to Wendy's and got a Chicken BLT salad and a frosty and iced tea.

I got back, et. I edited in Avid 2. I loaded van 4. We headed to the Plah-zuh for a live. We went from across the crapple store. It took us a while to get tuned in. We were live after first weather.

We tore down and headed back. I dropped Dave off at 22:21, and headed to QT. I gassed the van up and put my stuff up and parked the van in the garage.

I talked to Fritz. Found out I am working 10 to 6 tomorrow. I'm with Tess. Started grabbing file for the Kara Kopetsky case and batching it into Avid Number 2.

We drove to Belton to interview Kara's Mom and stepdad.

6:30pm - 8:30pm
We got back. I started batching and got salad at Wendy's. I et and started editing in Avid 2. I found out at 20:30 that we have to eng our live.

I got van 2 checked out. We headed out to Belton.

We were late for our live. We did our live at 21:30 instead of our 21:10. We had ifb problems too. We did our live for 10 and came back.

I loaded van 2. Paul and I went to City Hall to talk to Mayor Funkhouser about the proposal to use tif money to turn Bannister Mall into a soccer stadium. We then headed to Bannister to do lives for the noon show. Jon and John were there shooting. Jon heped me set up the van.

1:00pm - 2:30pm
I went back to the station. I gassed the van at QT and unloaded. I talked to Tommie -- showed her my trip pix and set my remaining floating holidays.

I went to YJ's had fajits

I went to Don Bosco Center to shoot a vo/sot, but it happens tomorrow and not today

I was sent to shoot the set up of the flaming Brush Creek.

I was sent to a standoff. I heped Eric and Kevin. I talked to Michael about my train trip and trains.

I went homo after unloading my stufff and tapes.

This neon sign worked up until a year or two ago. It is even on the travel brochiers to Lawrence. Unfortunately, it got vandalized. This sign is on the old Santa Fe Depot in Lawrence, Kansas.

This is the southwest corner of the depot. I beleive it was built in 1955 in the mid-century modern style that was popular then. Many Santa Fe depots were built during this time when many railroads were closing down and tearing down depots and passenger service. The Atchison Topeka and Santa Fe railroad was very much in favor of passenger rail up until the very end, and kept up it's system even after Amtrak took over.

This is the view looking towards the freight section of the Old Santa Fe Depot. It is still being used by the railroad as a yard office for the small switching operation that the BNSF has in Lawrence, Kansas. Other than the switching, there is little traffic through this area. There are two Amtrak trains, one each way -- the chiefs:

Here is the ticket window at the old Santa Fe Depot in Lawrence, Kansas. I beleive the paneling is what they call water board. It is something that was high quality and done on a lot of homes and buildings in the 50's. It is actually bueautiful to look at.
