- 2011/08/06 Saturday 11:17:23 First Fridays in August have usually been laid back affairs with many of the galleries not having openings due to the oppressive heat and no air conditioning. This firat Friday was pleasant due to a break in the hellish temps. Even though I was working hoofing my big camera around, I didn't feel a huge need to rest.
- 2011/08/06 Saturday 11:22:50 I was dissappointed to see the Keyhole had cancelled its event dor the evening. It was called due to rain according to a facebook message. It did rain in the morning, but by evening the weather was perfect. I can understand though, the desire to call an event with thw threat of weather an a lightly attended first Friday. I got my big camera, little tripod and Tima, and headed to the east end of the crossroads by Grinders. I was hoping to catch the route 66 photo show, but caught up with photos from the wreckage from Joplin. My dog Tima is a bit spoiled. She walks in most places despite my prohibitions, finds the owner of the gallery and cuddles up to them.

- 2011/08/06 Saturday 11:45:12 I walked around tge east end and explored the galleries with Tima. I started heading back and decided to take a side trip, where I met up with Bill Drummond and Deborah Borel at Bad Seed. They were loading up after selling some vegetables. I kidnapped Bill, or maybe he kidnapped me and we took off in the direction of tge Late show Gallery. We stopped at the Hilliard first and enjoyed the cool a/c. Tima enjoyed the attention from the numerous children. She even gained a glow ring from one of the kids and wore it the rest of the evening. She was still wearing it when I left for work this morning.
