- 2011/08/19 Friday 21:10:37 Heading back from Garnett Kansas. We spent all our time on the downtown square, and most of that time at a place called the Coffee Loft. We heard about the Coffee Loft while visiting the coffee house in Paola.
- 2011/08/19 Friday 21:45:09 Ken found a john Deere tractor similar to the one he used to use in the 50's. He has a picture of himself on it from 1955. I asked if he could pose on it so I could try to take a picture similar to the one that was taken of him then.

- 2011/08/19 Friday 22:56:45 s - What could we say about Garnett? K - They got a John Deere tractor -- 830. I was thinking that thing had been running not too long ago. The flywheel didn't have a lot of rust on it. Tgere was a can on tge smokestack. Someday I'm going to have to play for you a video of my dad so will see what a johnny pop is really all about. S - A lot of stone used in the downtown buildings. K- apparently somebody's maintaining them.. They are not falling down. S- i eonder why there is so much empty space on the square. K- no business? S- I mean no buildings at all. K- probably fires or the buildings got condemned and knocked down. K- Isnt hustice supposed to be blindfolded? (holds up picture of statue on top of the courthouse). My tractor had bigger back tires -- wider. It had a different air cleaner and the is square.
