Shat Turd Day Cinco de Mayo 2007
Shat turd day I woiked with Kim. We were to do a thing on the Roller Warriors but a snafu with PR people caused us to be there with no one showing up to open Hale Arena. So we went to an op 100 breaking news incident on the northeast side near sheffield where we could only do phoners. Then we were on vo patrol the rest of the day.
The National Weather Service issued a high probabiltiy of severe weather in Central Kansas. So Suyen and I rushed off to there. The drive on I-70 around Manhattan and Junction City is gorgeous in the flint hills area. We made it west of McPhereson and were about to turn back when we started seeing rotating wall clouds galore. Some tried to form funnels but couldn't quite do it at the time we were there. We finally had to head back. We went up this one road to a town called Holyrood, but it dead ended there with road work. We heard on the radio that there were two giant wedge tornados on the ground which was some miles southwest of us. We had to find county road 1st avenue to get out of the area, so that was the scariest moment of the evening -- which was us driving towards two tornados, which you DO NOT want to do at night. We made it out and towards I-70. WE couldn't stay longer as I had an early morning on Sunday and Suyen needed to get to somewhere where she had reliable cell service. It was a shame too, because all hell broke loose as far as tornados everywhere (about 80). We drove through some heavy weather on I-70 and even got blown around by some gusts. We made it home about 01:30. 04:30 came too early.\
Son Day 6 May 2007
So on Son day I loaded up into van 2 with Kim and we headed to the OP convention center. Heavy thunderstorms were approaching so I knew we couldn't get a live out. I got to meet Dave Prowse -- the guy who played Darth Vader in the first 3 Star Wars Movies. We shot two look lives and headed back in the torrential rain. It turns out that the rain did not let up 'til after noon. We were driving all over the metro to shoot flooding. My SX camera didn't like the moisture too much and despite my efforts to keep it dry, it started acting wierd -- like not powering down or not allowing the functions of the lens to work properly. So I struggled with that all day. Fortunately it shot everything in the right color, so all my footage was good.
After a long day struggling with the elements, I went home and crashed finally. Poor Suyen is having to work and deal with the phone ringing every 15 minutes. Things started to slow down by evening. We got up and both fixed a late brekkus. Then did a little more work and crashed.
Moanday 7 May 2007
The rain is still coming down in buckets. I took Suyen to her woikplace this moaning. Then after fruitlessly looking for a place where I could have kawfee and blog oily in the moaning, I finally found that the Waldo Cup was opened. I ordered a latte when Suyen called. When I picked up Suyen I spilled it all over my lap. We went to YJ's for brekkus and kawfee. I've scrubbed this puter clean as I could. It is operating too slow. I found that stuff my nephew has loaded into it has been continuously calling for updates from it's server, so I think that may be the source of the slow operation.

I'm here getting the oll changed in the cherrybomb. Suyen and I et at Town Topic and now she is at woik. On the way here we just experienced a little bit of road rage. Seems I violated this woman's constitutional right to do 60 in a 30 mph zone. She was honking and yelling at us. I let her pass, but when I did I got her license. I'm still contemplating reporting her to the Westwood Police Dept.
All those pix I uploaded are a backlog of pix I've had in the puter. I haven't had time to go through them, and I think that all I really have time to do is just upload them. In there are pix from the storm chase. Those are some scary looking clouds.

We just got home from Warrensburg. We went to Frank's retirement party at Heroes. Frank is Suyen's former co-worker from the Warrensburg horspital. Before that we were at Mic in the Metro at Union Station. Before that I had the cherrybomb detailed in Blue Springs.

Tiddy I got up later than I should and headed to the Trailer with Tima. I cut the grass which was higher than an elephants eye. We got a threatening letter from the trailer park about the grass and the monster van. It is the second notice on the van. It was hot today. I went to woik first to get the van. I forgot to get my paycheck. I went through Buckner to stop at Caseys as I was jonesing for the pizza. I cut the grass and talked to our neighbors Ray and James. Then I went back to woik to get my paycheck and then to the bunk to put it in. Then Homo. Tonight we took Mom and Dad to Ameristar for Mothers day at the buttfey. Then we went homo for tea and teevee. Now it's beddie as 04:30 comes dark and early.
